MAKING SOME NOISE: CARLTON HALL MUSIC BUILDING NEARING COMPLETION

As stated by C.S Lewis, “Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be.”

At the Baptist University of Florida (BUF), our goal is to equip students to use their calling to spread God’s glory to the ends of the earth. Within the last year, our facilities at the university’s main campus in Graceville have been updated and renovated to help achieve that goal. During Fall 2023, the university held the unveiling of the renovated Ida J. McMillan Library, throughout the summer reconstruction of the athletics facility was completed, and now the university is looking forward to the completion of the Carlton Hall Music Building.

The students and faculty of BUF’s School of Music and Worship are eager to study, practice, and perform in the completed building. Professor Richard Davenport, Interim Chair of the School of Music and Worship shared, “With these renovations, we are excited for our Music and Worship students to have the opportunity for their major-related classes to meet in a centralized location on campus. Our students will also gain much needed additional space for individual practice and convenient access to the music library, piano lab, and music faculty offices. The School of Music and Worship students and faculty are grateful to those who made this blessing possible for the next generation of worship leaders and music educators.” We are excited at the Baptist University of Florida for the progress we have made and the progress still to come all for the purpose of empowering students to make a maximum Kingdom impact.
